Performance Testing In The Rainy Backcountry Of The Kenai Peninsula
In the rainy backcountry of the Kenai Peninsula, we tested a backpack made with ReCirX²-coated fabric for hydrostatic resistance, abrasion resistance, and coating durability.

After days of wet, rugged use, the fabric held up flawlessly with no leaks, no delamination, and lasting strength. Further testing will be done in the next 6 months, focused on long-term abrasion resistance and the effects of colder temperatures on the PET material. PET coatings are quite new to the market, so we will try to get as many use days in as possible to understand this material’s limitations better.
ReCirX² goes beyond durability. It is designed for circularity, turning polyester fabrics into a fully recyclable monomaterial.
