Field Testing
Lab results only tell part of the story. At PolyCore, we sew our own product samples using the same materials and coatings we offer our customers, so we know exactly how they perform in the real world. Our team takes these packs into the rain, snow, and mud on trips around the globe, pushing them through the same conditions they’ll face in everyday use.
Denali Summit, Alaska
Eco-Shield
On a 17-day expedition to summit Denali, North America’s tallest peak, PolyCore athletes put our Eco-Shield coating to the ultimate test. The 150-liter duffel, engineered with Eco-Shield PU, endured sub-zero temperatures, high winds, and heavy snowfall. Even in these extreme alpine conditions, the fabric maintained full waterproof protection and exceptional durability; a true validation of its performance.
North Pole Research Expedition
Eco-Coating
In April 2023, The B.I.G. North Expedition traveled to the North Pole to collect data on sea ice, snow, and atmospheric conditions. Led by explorer Felicity Aston, the team skied across shifting ice, hauling sledges of research gear protected by Groundtruth Global covers made with PolyCore’s Eco-Coating technology.
Kenai Peninsula, Alaska
ReCirX²
In the rainy backcountry of the Kenai Peninsula, we tested a backpack made with ReCirX²-coated fabric for hydrostatic resistance, abrasion, and coating durability. Even after days of wet, rugged use, the fabric showed no leaks, no delamination, and lasting strength.
